  • Eliminating plastic cellophane around our cardboard packaging to reduce unnecessary waste.
  • Reducing the use of paper leaflets.
  • Increasing the amount of recycled plastic in our tubes.
  • Using carboard packaging and displays predominantly sourced from sustainably managed, FSC-certified forests.
  • Prioritising local or regional sourcing to minimise our environmental impact.
  • Reducing energy consumption throughout the manufacturing process of our formulas.

Joining forces against cancer: We’re deeply committed to the fight against cancer. Every year, our Power of Pink campaign drives fundraising efforts to support research and patient care worldwide. In partnership with leading institutions such as the Institut Curie in France, the Swiss Cancer Foundation in Switzerland, the Pink Ribbon Foundation in the UK, the Fondazione Humanitas per la Ricerca in Italy, Alma Zois in Greece and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Australia, we’re working together to push progress forward and provide better support to those who need it most.

Founding of MAVALA

Founding of MAVALA and launch of our iconic Mavala Scientifique K+, the first penetrating nail hardener on the market. Our dream was to shake up the beauty market!

1962

Mini Color's Creation

Shiny, long-lasting formulas for the first time in a mini format, allowing women to use every last drop of their nail polish before it dries out in a bottle that's too big. Now available in over 350 shades, and in bio-sourced or silicon-enriched versions, they're still as popular as ever!

1967

Double-Lash Launch

Launch of the legendary Double-Lash, an iconic nourishing serum that visibly densifies and lengthens lashes. Over half a century of false lashes without false lashes!

1971

MAVALA Expansion

MAVALA expands in the heart of Geneva.

1979

Curved Mascara Brush Launch

Launch of a curved mascara brush, designed by MAVALA. Our first mascara was born!

1986

Hyaluronic Acid

It's the first time such an active ingredient has been included in a hand care product. MAVALA did it: the Repairing Night Cream was born.

1991

Barrier-Base Development

Development of BARRIER BASE, the first nail polish base formulated with water to carry water-soluble active ingredients beneficial to very dry and delicate nails.

1995

Foot Care

MAVALA extends its expertise to another part of the body and develops a foot care and beauty line.

1997

Expansion of head office

To support its expansion, MALAVA expands its head office once again.

2017

Swiss Skin Solution Launch

Launch of Swiss Skin Solution, the other face of MAVALA, a complete line of facial care products combining Alpine botanical treasures and cutting-edge dermatological active ingredients for visible, clinically proven results.

2020

Double-Lash New Formula

New formula for the iconic Double-Lash, even more effective, with clinical testing to back it up!

2021

First Prebiotic Hand Cream

First hand cream with natural prebiotics to help balance the skin's microbiota and strengthen its protective barrier. This year also marks our commitment to the fight against cancer by supporting local associations around the world that work for patients and their carers.

2023

Creation of a Hybrid Foundation

Launch of Serum Foundation, a hybrid foundation infused with 83% skincare to improve skin quality every day.

2025

MAVALA Rebranding

MAVALA reinvents itself: launch of a new identity ‘With care. With style’ and a new global communication campaign.
