Winter survival refresh

Hands up who’s not feeling energetic right now? Cold mornings, early dark nights, fitness is out the window, and your hair may be looking a little lacklustre. It’s easy to get your glow on, starting with your nails…

Mood-boosting manicure

Give your mood a lift with a new nail shade. In colour therapy, each colour of the rainbow represents feeling and emotions. Generally, warm colours are uplifting and cool colours are calming. Here are some of our favourite mood-boosting mini nail colours. Having an uplifting colour, literally at your fingertips is a little reminder that you’ve taken some self-care action for you, too.

Reveal bright, luminous skin

This time of year, if you’re living in a colder part of Australia, skin is naturally more tired looking and can lack radiance. The cooler air dries skin out and it doesn’t look as plump and radiant as in the summer months. Two perfect products for this time of year are Mavala Vitalizing Healthy Glow Day Cream, which has powerful antioxidants, and hydrates and energises the skin. At night, we love Mavala Sleeping Mask “Baby Skin” Radiance – it has a very gentle peeling effect and can be used overnight, applied in a thin layer, or as a classic mask for 15 minutes – either way, it gives an immediate radiant effect.

Add gloss to your hair

Cover greys and add depth and gloss to your hair naturally, with Color & Soin. This permanent hair colourant doesn’t have ammonia so there’s no sharp smell, but it does contain plant extracts which are gentle on hair to preserve the condition and gives 100% grey coverage.

Make the TV your workout buddy

Bingeing your favourite new series? Make the most of your time and do some easy exercises at the same time.

  • Sit on a physio ball and do some arm exercises with small weights.

  • Do some stretches on a mat for legs, back and arms

  • Do a few press ups during the commercials or between episodes.

Even better, follow some of the super popular workout, yoga, and Pilates experts online on your TV or laptop and get a workout in before you start your day.

Get outdoors

It’s very well documented that getting outdoors in nature is a mood-booster. Even if the weather isn’t ideal, being outside even for a brief walk is a great change of scenery from your home or office. Getting out makes you feel refreshed, whether it’s first thing in the morning, at your lunch break or even an evening walk with a friend.
