Make a difference in October with Pink Ribbon month

Although breast cancer diagnosis is becoming more and more common, the survival rate is increasing – here’s how you can help raise the positive statistics.

According to Australian Government organisation Cancer Australia, ‘Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). Survival rates continue to improve in Australia with 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis.’

Many companies support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Australia, including Mavala.

For the third year running, Mavala is renewing its Power of Pink initiative. In Australia, the Swiss brand is supporting The National Breast Cancer Foundation, in a movement to show solidarity and awareness against cancer and raising much needed research funds. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia's leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

The Power of Pink range includes specially created and limited-edition Mini Color Nail Polish in The Power of Pink, an uplifting fuschia pink, Mavala’s Clean & Comfort Alpine Softness Miceller Water, and Extra Mild Nail Polish Remover – and $3 from each product sold in October goes to the NBCF.

Most importantly, the Power of Pink range of products are compatible with cancer treatments.

Mavala Alpine Softness Micellar Water cleanses, removes make-up and soothes skin. It’s fragrance and paraben-free, and formulated with 94% natural origin ingredients, so it’s ideal - and is specially formulated for sensitive eyes and skin. Apply to a cotton pad and wipe over skin and eye makeup, no need to rinse.

Extra Mild Nail Polish remover is non-drying and acetone-free and specially developed for fragile nails. Soak a cotton pad and press onto the nail for a few seconds to break down the polish, then wipe away.
