The perfect brow changes everything. A well-groomed arch brings balance to – and defines – your face. But it’s easy to lose track of our brows: from over-plucking to missed appointments, sometimes our brow care routine takes a backseat. If you’ve lost your way with your brows, here’s how to bring them back. Consider this your rescue plan…

Step 1: Groom to perfection

No amount of brow products will save you from the wrong shape, proportion, definition, or tone. The first step to get your brows back on track is to consult an expert. Whether it’s finding the right grooming technique for you (waxing, threading or plucking) or investing in a simple eyebrow tint (the correct colour for your skin tone is essential), a well-shaped, carefully groomed brow is the perfect starting point for nailing your brow routine at home. Need some inspiration? Follow in the footsteps of celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields and Cate Blanchett, whose brow tone and structure have perfectly adapted to their face shape as they’ve aged.

Step 2: Apply a brow serum

If you’re among those of us who have over-plucked their brows, an eyebrow growth serum can work wonders. A nutritive serum for longer, denser lashes and brows, apply daily to assist in stimulating eyebrow hair growth (and you can use it on your lashes too!). Our Double Lash is rich in vitamins and proteins to strengthen and protect the brow, for fuller, thicker and healthier arches. Apply for at least 30 days in a row – smoothing over make-up free brows (overnight) – to see results.

Step 3: Fill in your brows

As we age, our eyebrows can thin out, lose density and become more sparse. That’s where an eyebrow pencil comes in. Mavala’s range of natural and vegan Eyebrow Pencils are a firm favourite for makeup artists and beauty editors alike: the firm, non-greasy texture allows a neat application using small and precise strokes, with zero level of expertise required. An eyebrow pencil can fill in the gaps in the brow, without overloading the hair, or extra strokes can be applied for a more dramatic look. Mavala Eyebrow Pencils are packed full of antioxidant-rich vitamin E, which helps to combat free radical damage, and jojoba oil to nourish the delicate skin under the brow. To apply, start with small strokes in the direction of eyebrow growth and then top up as needed. Your brows will be back on track in no time. Tweak and maintain as required!
