Create a gorgeous eye makeup look that suits your party vibe - whether it’s a BBQ, Christmas party or it needs to last the distance on Christmas Day. Here’s how the experts do it.

BBQ – The elevated everyday eye

Celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman shares her three steps to an everyday eye look with a little more oomph:

  1. Brush up and fill in your brows

  2. Trace brown eyeliner along the waterline and upper lashes

  3. Sweep on a few coats of mascara to finish

Use Mavala Soft Khol Eye Contour Pencil in Warm Brown to create definition around your eyes - smudge along your upper lash line with a cotton bud, and use what’s on the cotton bud under your eyes for a soft smudge of colour.

Brush lashes with Mavala Creamy Mascara and fill in your brows with Mavala Eye Pencil – it’s got a spiral brush on the other end of the pencil to brush lashes into place.

Christmas Party – Go for glam

If you follow Victoria Beckham on Instagram, you’ll see her applying her own makeup and how she creates her signature smoky eye. ‘I use black eyeliner and lots, and lots, and lots of mascara’, she says.

Create the ultimate smokey eye look with white and black eyeshadow using Mavala Satin Eyelid Powder in Gris Orage and Blanc Pur, and define the look with Mavala Liquid Eye Liner in Noir.

When you need to remove your makeup, try Mavala Eye Makeup Remover Lotion, which is a non-greasy formula.

Christmas Day – Last the distance

It can be a long hot day – in the kitchen, dashing around visiting family and friends or just a day long party. Make your eye makeup last all day with some key products.

Start with Mavala Eye Base applied on your eyelid, which gives a luminous, longer lasting base and enhances your eye makeup colour.

Makeup artist Amanda Ramsay uses a soft eye crayon across her eye lids, blends it with a brush, then applies a lighter coloured shadow in the crease of her eye.

‘The key to the easy smoky eye – apply a little crayon on a pencil shaped brush and brush under your eye. Many women believe that applying colour under the eye makes you look tired, but it won’t – it adds to the smoky look’, she explains.

Mavala Eye Shadow Crayon are long lasting – apply in short strokes and blend with your finger, then apply a little more if you want more intensity. Try the Crayons in Bronze Dore and highlight with Vanille Sucree.

For a flick of festive shimmer, add a flash of gold eyeliner with Mavala Liquid Eye Liner in Or Glamour. The Eye Liner is also super long lasting – apply it along your upper lash line.

Choose a long lasting Waterproof Mascara and use lots of it, then finish your whole look for lasting power with Mavala Magic Powder which enhances, blurs, mattifies and illuminates skin.

To remove your longer lasting makeup, use Mavala Total Bi-Phase Makeup Remover which is gentle but effective for sensitive eyes.
